FAST Championship Chase Reignites This Weekend in Northern Ohio |
|

MAUMEE, OH (6-2-10) by Scott Porter - FAST Public Relations
After two weeks of defending their home turf from the ill-effects of mother nature and the invasion of the O'Reilly All Star Circuit of Champions, the Kistler Racing Products Fremont Attica Sprint Title (FAST) drivers are ready to embark on back-to-back weekends of points racing for the $10,000 winner's share of the season ending point fund and their chance at lifting the Kistler Cup Trophy. Monclova, Ohio's Byron Reed sits atop the championship points entering the weekend with a 75-point advantage over Brock Mayes. Defending FAST Champion Craig Mintz sits in third well with-in striking distance of both Mayes and Reed, while Mark Keegan and Phil Gressman round out the top-5 in points.
The FAST Championship Series heads to Attica Raceway Park on Friday, June 4th to kick off the weekend and headline a four division racing extravaganza that will be well worth the affordable admission prices. The track is hosting its Mid-Season Championship Night for double points, but this is only for the Attica Track Championship. The FAST Series does not award double points. Saturday, June 5th will be a special day for several owners who field cars in the FAST series along with a driver that still competes weekly at both Northern Ohio speedplants. Fremont Speedway is set to announce its second class of 10 inductees into the Fremont Speedway Hall of Fame, which include De Genzman (Owner: Phil Gressman #53), Sonny Burmeister (Owner: Bryan Sebetto #16) and Mark Keegan (driver of the #X). Fans are invited to attend the free ceremony at 3 pm under the historic covered grandstands at the Track That Action Built. The emotional afternoon will lead into an action packed racing program headlined by the Fremont Attica Sprint Title 410 sprint car drivers.
Everyone will be gunning for the "Monclova Missle" who leads the season with a pair feature wins and has yet to finish outside the top-5 in FAST competition. In a recent interview with Dave Seay of DirtCast.com, Byron commented on the factors that have led to his team's early success, "We switched and bounced around cars last year and we switched back to a JEI (Chassis) that we have liked in the past and started the year off in that. Our motor program is extremely strong and we have a Kistler Engine that is kind of a little different design that Paul (Kistler) has come up with and its extremely strong. Plus my team is working good and our setups have been working well with the new Goodyear tire. And personally being 37-years old now, I've realized that I needed to do some working out in the winter and I'm seeing the results."
While Byron leads the way it seems no one has passed more cars this season than the duo of Brock Mayes and Craig Mintz. Mayes will be entering the weekend with some momentum on his side as the 2009 Fremont Speedway Track Champion picked up a win at "The Track That Action Built" over the Memorial Weekend. Craig Mintz is still looking to pick up his first win of 2010, but has shown the ability to drive the Real-Geese, KS Sales & Service, Top Gun Enterprises #20X Maxim to the front and has collected several KSE Steering Hard Charger Awards in the process.

Veterans Rising to the Top of FAST 305 Title Hunt |
MAUMEE, OH (6-2-10) by Scott Porter - FAST Public Relations
With just two races in the books so far for the Fremont Attica Sprint Title (FAST) 305 Championship Series presented by Kear’s Speed Shop and Cleveland Golf, it is already easy to see the ingredients of a heated points battle down to the last lap of the last event. With $1,000 cash, $500 All Pro Aluminum Cylinder Heads gift certificate and a new Triple-X Chassis on the line for the inaugural series crown, the veterans of the ultra-competitive 305 sprint car division are rising to the top of the championship standings. Currently Bobby Clark holds a slim lead over opening week FAST 305 feature winners Stuart Brubaker and Paul Weaver, while John Ivy and Josh Muntz round out the top-5, which are only separated by a total of 38-points.
After two weeks off, the action heats up this weekend for the mini-series at Attica Raceway Park on Friday, June 4th and Fremont Speedway on Saturday, June 5th. With this weekend being the only FAST 305 events during the month of June, race teams will have to be on their game in order to position themselves within striking distance.
Only 10-point events make-up the FAST 305 Championship Series schedule, which means consistency will be crucial in order to take of the crown with no room for an off-night. Bobby Clark used a pair on runner up finishes to grab the early lead, but consecutive top-5s were also tallied by Brubaker (3rd at Attica, 1st at Fremont ) and Ivy (5th at both Attica & Fremont). Paul Weaver lead the standings after collecting the inaugural FAST 305 feature win at Attica, but after being collected in an early racing incident at Fremont the driver of the Genzman Racing Enterprises #1W was sent to the tail for the restart of the feature. The defending Attica Raceway Park Track Champion was able to charge back to a 7th place finish to keep his title hopes alive.

MAUMEE, OH (5-28-10) by Bryan Autullo - FAST Public Relations
As the 2010 season has just started rolling along, the Kistler Racing Products FAST Championship Series would like to take the time to welcome all of our new contingency award sponsors. Several companies have stepped up to join the Fremont/Attica Sprint Title chase for the Kistler Cup. "We'd like to welcomed R2C Filters, Fuel Safe, King Racing Products, OC Shocks, Weld Wheels, KSE Steering, Competition Suspension, Inc., Ti22 Performance, All Pro Heads, Arizona Sport Shirts, and Fisher Performance," said series organizer Bryan Autullo. "We made a concerted effort to go after the companies that the race teams frequently buy products from and get them involved with our series promotion. We are very pleased with the outcome and we feel it is a benefit to the teams who race here locally to have the support of these companies."
The FAST Series hands out over $1200 per event in contingency awards and the remainder of the prizes and certificates are handed out at the season ending banquet. More than $30,000 in contingency certificates will be distributed to the teams in 2010 on top of the $30,000 cash point fund. "Without the help of all of these great marketing partners, we would not be able to do the things we do," Autullo added.
Returning to the FAST Series are several contingency award sponsors who helped launch the series in 2009. Hepfner Racing Products, TQ Fiberglass, Racing Optics, Rocket Headers, Wings Unlimited, VRP Shocks, Kinsler Injections, RAM Engineering Midwest, PRO Shocks, ButlerBuilt, Zemco Headers, Kinser Filters, Outerwears, Inc, DMI Race Components, Keizer Wheels, Linders Speed Equipment, Saldana Racing Products, XXX Race Components, Randy's Racing Filters, Hinchman Indy Uniforms, Golden Graphics, FSR Radiator, Speed Meets Art, and Productive Tools & Equipment have offered their support once again in 2010.

FAST Series Drivers Ready to Take on All Stars on Saturday and Sunday |

MAUMEE, OH (5-27-10) by Bryan Autullo - FAST Public Relations
The drivers of the Kistler Racing Products FAST Championship Series presented by SRP Pistons & Engine Pro are gearing up to take on the invading All Star series this Saturday night at Fremont Speedway. This will not be a points event for the FAST series, but series organizers have secured a deal with Kinser Air Filters to pay the Top 5 FAST drivers in the A-main each a $100 gift certificate toward the purchase of Kinser Air Filter products. "Roger Kinser wanted to do something special for the FAST drivers this Memorial Day weekend," said series organizer Chris Kettman, "and he offered us $500 worth of gift certificates toward his products for this event. We are fortunate to have such great sponsors of the FAST series who step up to show their support for the teams that work so hard to put on a show each week."
The All Stars will be met with resistance when they roll into "The Track That Action Built" on Saturday with an army of hungry FAST drivers who have not raced since May 15th. The FAST warriors were set to take on the World of Outlaws last Friday at Attica, but Mother Nature had other plans forcing the cancellation of the event. Byron Reed has dominated the Fremont Speedway action so far this season winning both 410 features between the rain outs that have plagued the Fremont schedule. "The Monclova Missile (Reed) has been on a hot streak at Fremont and Attica so far in 2010," added Kettman. "He is going to give Shaffer, Wilson, and the rest of the All Stars a run for the $5000 prize on Saturday."
Brock Mayes, the 2009 Fremont track champion, has been on fire as well this season and trails Reed by 75 points in FAST competition and is also a former All Star traveler. Reed, Mayes, Craig Mintz, Mark Keegan, and Phil Gressman make up the FAST Top 5 in season points. These drivers will be gunning for Tim Shaffer who has won the last two All Star races at Fremont Speedway in 2009. With a deep talent pool of local drivers such as Lee Jacobs, Mike Linder, Bryan Sebetto, Jody Keegan, Kevin Lee, Brandon Martin, Chris Andrews, and Dean Jacobs the All Stars will have their hands full.
On Sunday, the action continues as Fremont Speedway presents a non-sanctioned 410 sprint show to celebrate Memorial Day weekend. Many of the All Star teams are expected to be in attendance for this event as well to take on the FAST series regulars for the $2500 top prize. For more information on this weekend's events, visit www.fremontohspeedway.com and make your plans to attend this two-day event.
The Kistler Racing Products FAST Championship Series will be back in action on June 4th at Attica Raceway Park and then on June 5th at Fremont Speedway along with the second weekend of the FAST 305 Championship Series presented by Kear's Speed Shop & Cleveland Golf.
