Reed Continues to Build Points Lead in FAST Competition; Clark Leads FAST305 Points |

MAUMEE, OH (5-15-10) by Bryan Autullo, FAST Public Relations
"The Monclova Missile" is aimed directly at a $10,000 pay day at the end of the Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. Championship Season as Byron Reed has dominated at Fremont Speedway winning both A-mains so far and has also racked up several Top 5's at Attica Raceway Park in 2010. He also has a feature win there which came during All Star competition but did not count toward the F.A.S.T. Championship points. The "Department of Homeland Security" is made up of Mark Keegan, Brock Mayes, Craig Mintz, Phil Gressman, Lee Jacobs, and a host of other talented drivers who will do their best to try to disarm the "Missile" before the end of the 2010 season. With a 75 point lead over Brock Mayes, Reed should be anything but comfortable. Mayes is a proven threat every time he hits the track and is the defending Fremont Speedway track champion. The 2009 Kistler Cup winner, Craig Mintz, is only 86 points behind Reed and is well within striking distance with 16 points races yet to be run. Mark Keegan, a living legend in Northern OH, sits in 4th place and would like nothing more than to add the Kistler Cup to his trophy shelf. Phil Gressman rounds out the Top 5 with one FAST feature win coming at Attica. In the 2010 FAST Rookie of the Year points, Cody White holds a slim 32 point lead over Shawn Valenti.
The inaugural FAST305 events kicked off this past weekend with Paul Weaver and Stuart Brubaker picking up wins, but it is Bobby Clark who sits in the top spot by virtue of his 2 bonus points for being the Hard Charger on Friday night at Attica. Clark, Brubaker, Weaver, and John Ivy were the clear favorites to contend for the FAST305 title and they hold the Top 4 spots after two events have been run. Josh Muntz rounds out the Top 5. The FAST305 Championship Series consists of 10 events in conjunction with the Kistler Racing Products FAST Championship Series for the 410 sprints.

Night #6: Reed Out Runs Blaney For Fremont FAST Win; Brubaker Checks Out For FAST305 Victory |
|

FREMONT, OH (5-15-10) by Scott Porter - FAST Public Relations
The Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. Championship Series presented by SRP Pistons/ Engine Pro moved on down the Ohio Turnpike for Night #6 at Fremont Speedway on Saturday night. The pits were full yet again as 31 winged 410 sprint cars signed in for the night. At the conclusion of the event, Byron Reed extended his Kistler Cup points lead over Brock Mayes, Mark Keegan, Craig Mintz and Phil Gressman.
Again several of the All Star Circuit of Champions regulars joined the F.A.S.T. locals and Dale Blaney started off the night by setting the TQ Fiberglass Quick Time with a lap of 12.56. The heat race wins went to Kevin Lee, Brandon Martin, Mike Linder and Dustin Dagget. The Butlerbuilt B-Main win went to Bryan “Flipper” Sebetto. The Top-10 in points were stirred up after the dust settled as Chris Andrews, Mark Keegan and Phil Gressman all failed to transfer out of the B-Main.
With the drop of the green flag on the A-Main it was Byron Reed setting sail followed by Greg Wilson, Jody Keegan, Craig Mintz, Tim Shaffer and the rest of the field into the first turn. Living up to his “Monclova Missile” nickname Reed was flying and soon built a healthy lead. Jody Keegan would slide into second ahead of a contingent of All Stars before the first set of cautions slowed the event. The race finally set its pace near the halfway point and Dale Blaney was on the move climbing into 2nd place after passing Jody Keegan.
A restart on lap 19 gave Dale Blaney his best shot at the lead as he would pull even with Reed on several occasions. Reed, however, climbed up on the wheel of his #5 Pro Shock, Weld Wheels JEI sprint car and drove that much harder into the turns to fend off Blaney. At the same time, Tim Shaffter and Brock Mayes were on the move as they both were able to over take Jody Keegan and Craig Mintz to move into the Top 5. Reed would stretch out his lead and eventually pick up his second Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. Series win of the season and 20th career win at Fremont. The enthusiastic Reed celebrated the win by pulling a wheelie down the length of the front stretch as the crowd stood and cheered.
“You know I thought I was trying pretty hard, but I saw Blaney coming and I ran it the fastest that I could. I started on the pole, but by no means was it easy,” said Reed in Kistler Racing Products Victory Lane. “I tried the bottom there, but it wasn’t working so I drove it in harder up top and it worked”
The Weld Wheels Cool Move of the Race went to the defending F.A.S.T. Champion Craig Mintz for his pass of Jody Keegan to sneak into the Top 5 at the A-main checkers. The Hepfner Racing Products Tough Luck Award went to Rob Chaney, while Dustin Daggett picked up the KSE Steering Hard Charger Award for making his charge from 18th to 9th.

Night #5: Shaffer Scores FAST Series Victory; Weaver Wins Inaugural FAST305 Event |
|

ATTICA, OH (5-14-10) by Bryan Autullo, FAST Public Relations
With the All Star Circuit of Champions off this weekend, the Attica pits were packed with 37 winged 410 sprints for the Kistler Racing Products F.A.S.T. Series Night #5. Byron Reed came into the event with a slight lead over Mark Keegan, two veterans who would like to add the Kistler Cup to their trophy case. Preliminary action saw the locals mixing it up with the All Star regulars making for some intense heat race battles for final transfer spots. With the large turnout, Attica officials made the decision to start 22 cars in the main event as a thanks for the support from the race teams.
When the A-main rolled off, it was Reed who would start on the pole with Dean Jacobs to his outside and Tim Shaffer on his bumper. Reed took the initial lead with Jacobs challenging him, but it wasn't long before Shaffer had the #83 in 2nd place. On lap 5, Shaffer shot into the lead while Reed and Jacobs trailed a few car lengths behind. Shaffer appeared to have the dominant car with the help of crew chief Brian Kemenah at his disposal and after a red flag on lap 7 for Lee Jacobs, Shaffer never looked back. The action was slowed several more times with cautions, but each time Shaffer managed to hold off the re-start challenges by Reed and pull away down the back stretch. Jacobs and Reed traded slide jobs for 2nd place while Dale Blaney and Phil Gressman battled side by side for 3rd. Gressman and Blaney touched wheels, sending Gressman spinning into the infield. When the checkers fell for Shaffer, he was followed to the line by Reed, Jacobs, Blaney, and Brock Mayes.
“The car was just awesome. It really was a fun race. When it’s working that great it really is fun to drive. Brian (Kemenah) and the guys did a great job. We’ve been trying a lot of different things lately to try and get back on our game and it seems like we’re getting there,” said Shaffer from Victory Lane. “I can’t wait for the World of Outlaws to come here. We’re going to give it our best shot and then some. We’re really hungry for it…I can’t wait for it,” added Shaffer.
Jared Ridge won the B-main in preliminary action while Randy Hannagan, Jody Keegan, Dale Blaney, and Phil Gressman won their heat race events.
In the inaugural event for the FAST305 Series, it was Paul Weaver who would pick up the win in the first of 10 scheduled FAST305 Series races. Weaver started on the outside of the front row next to Stuart Brubaker with Bobby Clark and Brad Haudenschild in row two. With $1200 on the line for the "Engine Builder's Challenge", it was sure to be a huge battle for the largest 305 purse of the season. Brubaker showed Weaver the way around the track for the first several laps, but Weaver (who now has 24 wins at Attica) was not to be denied. The two raced each other clean while Brad Bowman and Clark stalked them waiting for either to make a mistake. Bowman found his line and managed to get to front and looked like he was going to pocket the $1200 winner's share, but ran off the high side of turn two mid-race, relinquishing the lead back to Weaver. On the re-start, Weaver checked out for the remaining laps with Clark and Brubaker trying to run him down. Weaver took the checkers with Clark, Brubaker, DJ Foos, and John Ivy rounding out the Top 5.
