MAUMEE, OH (5-12-10) by Bryan Autullo - FAST Public Relations

Local 305 Sprint Teams Ready To Go FAST And Compete For Inaugural Title

MAUMEE, OH (5-10-10) by Scott Porter - FAST Public Relations

The dust has finally settled after the first two weeks of racing action for F.A.S.T. and the local contingent of 410 sprint cars, but the 305 sprints are ready to storm into action over this weekend for the F.A.S.T. 305 Championship Series on Friday, May 14th at Attica Raceway Park and Saturday, May 15th at Fremont Speedway.

"The 305 sprint car drivers at Attica and Fremont are a much deserving group of drivers who put on some of the most competitive features during race nights throughout the season," commented Bryan Autullo of F.A.S.T.   "Thanks to marketing partners like Kears Speed Shop, Cleveland Golf, All Pro Heads and Triple X Race Components stepping up this off-season, we were able to establish this mini-series with a solid base that can only grow larger over the next few season. These race teams are a bit limited when it comes to when and where they can race and by adding the F.A.S.T. 305 Championship Series to the mix we only hope that we help make the racing action that much better for all involved."

The inaugural champion will be taking home the F.A.S.T. 305 trophy along with a check for $1,000, a $500 gift certificate from All Pro Aluminum Heads and a brand new Triple X Race Components sprint car chassis. The series looks to pay out cash & prizes to the top-10 finishers in series' points.  An added incentive will be "Kears FAST Cash Bonus" with the series handing out $100 in bonus cash during each of the scheduled F.A.S.T. 305 events.  The Kears FAST Cash winner will be determined by random drawing on the front stretch from the Top 3 drivers in the A-main event.  The winning driver must have the Kears 305 Challenge decal displayed on the race car.  If the winning driver does not have the decal on the car, that bonus money goes back into the 305 season point fund.

Bobby Clark and Paul Weaver have shown competitors that the road to the inaugural F.A.S.T. 305 championship will most likely have to go through one of them. After just six 305 events held so far in 2010 at Attica and Fremont, the two veterans both hold a pair of victories and sit 1-2 in each of the track's championship point standings. A division littered with talent won't back down to the challenge as many seek to be inaugural champion. Several young drivers have been competitive in the beginning months of this season, while D.J. Foos and Steve Rando have both been in victory lane after impressive showings.

Reed Builds 30 Point Lead in FAST Competition

MAUMEE, OH (5-3-10) by Bryan Autullo, FAST Public Relations

Monclova, Ohio's Byron Reed came out of the gates in 2010 with both guns blazing taking aim at the Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title presented by SRP Pistons/Engine Pro.  Reed was runner up to Craig Mintz when the final points were tallied in 2009, but finishing second is not good enough for the veteran racer in the familiar all black #5.  Reed has been one of the top competitors in Northern Ohio for the past decade winning multiple track championships at both Attica and Fremont.  It appears that in the early stages of 2010, Reed has regained his hunger for winning.  With one win and finishes of 2nd and 4th, Reed is the only driver to finish in theTop 5 in all three F.A.S.T. point races so far this season.

Reed currently leads by 30 points over another veteran of local sprint car racing.  Mark Keegan, driver of the famed #X, has his sights set on the Championship as well.  Bad luck plagued Keegan throughout 2009, but he has managed to finish strong at each event thus far in 2010.  Keegan nearly picked up his 60th win at Fremont Speedway on May 1st, but Reed stole the victory with less than 5 laps to go.  Keegan will put his experience to work as he tries to gain on Reed in the coming weeks.  Phil Gressman, Brock Mayes, and 2009 F.A.S.T. Champion Craig Mintz round out the Top 5 in points.

Night #4: Monclova Missile Shoots Down the Competition for Fremont FAST Series Win

FREMONT, OH (5-1-10) by Bryan Autullo - FAST Public Relations

With 30 winged 410 sprint cars signed in at Fremont Speedway's season opener, it would be no easy task for any driver to find his way to victory lane with the deep talent pool that exists in Northern Ohio. The legendary Fremont Speedway has spawned many of the top names in sprint car racing over the years and that tradition runs deep at "The Track That Action Built." With Fremont's new A-main line up format, Todd Kane and Rob Chaney found themselves sitting on the front row of the main event for Night #4 of Kistler Racing Products Fremont/Attica Sprint Title competition.

When the green flag waved, Chaney grabbed the initial lead with Kane, Mark Keegan, Byron Reed and Bryan Sebetto falling in behind. Chaney had a comfortable lead over Kane when the caution flew on lap 7 for Sheldon Haudenschild. On the restart the caution would come out once again for Jody Keegan. As yellow flag waved, Chaney and Kane somehow got together on the front stretch ending the night for Chaney and sending Kane to the tail. Mark Keegan would inherit the lead with Byron Reed, Phil Gressman, Bryan Sebetto, and Kevin Lee making up the Top 5 spots. On the restart, Keegan pulled out to a sizeable lead with Reed in second. Gressman, Sebetto and Lee were putting on a show for the fans for the 3rd spot.

With 15 laps in the books, Reed began stalking Keegan in every corner as they raced side by side through turns three and four. Gressman and Sebetto still battled for 3rd through traffic until the final caution flew on lap 21. It looked like Reed would have a shot at Keegan on the restart, but Keegan managed to pull away and looked to be well on his way to his 60th career victory at Fremont. However, Reed didn't see it that way. Reed dove under Keegan in turn 2 to steal the lead on lap 26. He never looked back as he pulled away from the veteran Keegan. Reed took the checkers with Keegan, Gressman, Lee and Craig Mintz rounding out the Top 5.
