|FAST Championship Series 2012 Membership Deadline Approaching|
MAUMEE, OH (4-19-12) by Scott Porter - F.A.S.T. Public Relations
The Kistler Racing Product Fremont/Attica Sprint Title (F.A.S.T.) presented by Engine Pro and KS Sales & Service will require that all competitors wishing to receive points toward the 2012 championship point fund will need to buy a membership. This membership fee applies to both the 305 and 410 sprints. The deadline is Saturday, April 21st - the second day of the 2012 opening weekend for F.A.S.T. Series competition. "We've been collecting memberships over the past few weeks," said Bryan Autullo of the F.A.S.T. organization.
"With Attica not running 410s last Friday and Fremont canceling due to rain, we didn't get an opportunity to remind everyone about the deadline. Any driver who has not filled out the membership form and paid the fee by the end of the night on April 21st will not receive points for the weekend."
Membership forms have been available to teams since February 25th. No 410 memberships will be accepted after April 21st.
"We will extend the deadline for the 305 series because their first F.A.S.T. race isn't until mid-May," Autullo continued. "If weather becomes a factor on Saturday, we will extend the 410 deadline until the next F.A.S.T. event."
Membership fees are used to fund operating costs for the series such as decals, banners, advertising, and printing costs. In past years, these costs have been absorbed by the series and essentially comes out of the point fund. Memberships will cost the 410 sprints $100 for the season and will cost $50 for the 305 sprints. Kistler Racing Products will provide each paying member with a $50 gift card. Other membership benefits include parts and certificates from series contingency sponsors for paid members. Membership forms will be available from the F.A.S.T. organization at both tracks this weekend.
Forms can also be downloaded on the FAST Series web site at www.fastondirt.com.
